Windshifting in the potato line: a day-and-night difference
For Willem Quaak of Quaak Potato in Scherpenisse, one thing is crystal clear: when it comes to packing unwashed potatoes, effective dust collection is essential.
Back in 2019, Willem invested in his first Jongejans dust extraction system. Since then, his business has grown rapidly. This year, a brand-new facility was built to expand packing capacity – the perfect moment to team up with Jongejans once again. The existing system was upgraded, and an additional extraction installation was added.
Infeed line – the power of windshifting
At the infeed, the focus is now on windshifting: a smart combination of blowing and suction that ensures cleaner potatoes move through the line. Leaves and other debris are separated right away, while the entire airflow is purified in the Jongejans PGF filter installation.
Packing line – clean air, clean results
In the packing area, all is done to keep the air as clean as possible – protecting both employees and the delicate technology of optical sorters and packing machines.
“In times of staff shortages, automation is a necessity. We are proud of our team and want to keep them. That’s why providing a clean working environment is essential.” – Willem Quaak
With Jongejans Luchttechniek, Quaak Potato gets the most out of its potato line – clean, efficient, and future-proof.
